I just got this in an email from the Independent Film Channel (IFC) today,
and thought some of you might be interested to try to catch sight of JMS:

>> Back by popular demand - the Cannes Cam returns to IFC.com, starting
today. Enjoy our live 24/7 webcam view of the red carpet at the Grand
Palais, the hottest location at the Cannes Film Festival. Have lunch
in France from your desk - watch and listen to the sights and sounds
of the Croisette to your heart's content.

Every day at midday Eastern time (evening in Cannes), IFC News host
Matt Singer will be joined by special guest commentators during all
the red carpet premieres. IFC.com will also have expanded coverage
of the event with articles, photos, additional video and recorded
video of the previous red carpet events caught on the Cam.

Watch it live now at ifc.com/cannes <<

If I'm reading the schedule correctly, "The Changeling" will
have a morning screening* next Tuesday (May 20), but the big
red-carpet event will be at 7:30 local time. As mentioned in
the info that Amy posted from IFC, the camera is on 24 hours
a day, but there are hosts describing the action when an
evening premiere is about to happen.

* The schedule says "8.30-12.00" on one line, and "19.30" on
the next line. Anyone more familiar with Cannes screenings
than I am, please feel free to clarify. At least I'm confident
about the 19.30 part.

At first I thought this was a static image, until I saw an ambulance
driving along the edge of the image.

This is rather confusing without the full schedule for Changeling
(listed below).
The 8.30-12:00 (8:30 am - 12:00 pm) is for the press. The 19.30 (7:30
pm) is Official Screening.

Just a reminder that the red-carpet premiere of "Changeling"
is coming up today. It's now just before 6:00 p.m. in Cannes
(just before 9:00 a.m. here in California), and crowds are
starting to line the red carpet area.

IFC's Cannes Cam page (www.ifc.com/cannes) says they start
the red-carpet commentary about 45 mins. before the film
starts, so that would be about 9:45 a.m. PDT. Unfortunately,
that's just when I have to leave for yoga class. :-( With
luck, they'll post the show on the website in a day or two,
but meanwhile, any of you who get to watch it live, please
post a report on whom they interview and what they say!

I'm pretty sure I saw JMS on the red carpet. He was standing a bit
behind Clint.

Do they archive the Red Carpet stuff anywhere?

Unfortunately, I missed this when it played.

The "Photocall - Interview : The Changelling" clearly shows JMS at the
very beginning.

Press conference : The Changeling - I could not get the video to load,

I had better luck with Press Conference : "The Exchange" (VA)

Under "MORE RED CARPET VIDEO" there a links to red carpet interview.
If we are luck, they will have an archive of Changeling tomorrow or
Thursday.

I thought I saw someone exiting the theater that looked like JMS, but
I could not say for certain. So we still do not have a picture with
JMS in a tux. The quest continues. :-)

Strictly speaking, it's not incorrect. But I'm sure that was not what they
meant.

a second.

Amy,
I would not have notice if you had not pointed this out. :-)
It is amazing that Joe is better known internationally as an actor
than a screenwriter.

Long live the switching guy. I took a minute to look at the clip with Joe on
the red carpet and the poor guy had to be staring into 100's camera lenses.
Hope he enjoys the limelight.

I checked the Red Carpet video. JMS is at 22 minutes. I did a screen
capture, so this is the best so far of JMS in a tux.

As Christian pointed out earlier, Getty Images has some good
photos from the photo call and the red carpet. If you search
for "Straczynski" on their website, you'll see a still photo
(it was the first one in the search results when I did it)
of the same four people who are in that screen capture.

Nice!

By the way, I checked out the red carpet video on IFC's Cannes Cam, too. JMS
actually shows up at the 22:45 mark, and the funny thing is that the
commentator says at that moment -- and for those who haven't seen the video,
it helps to be looking at Elenopa's picture so you'll get why this is amusing
with the visual:

"...and there we see Clint with Brian Grazer..."

Poor guy, standing in the background, it's like they don't even see him!
It's okay, JMS -- _we_ saw you. :-)

That's a great illustration of the Hollywood heirarchy. It looks like
JMS is holding the umbrella over Brian Grazer. <g>
