From the keyboard of Randy Garrett:
"...We fans of the Adventures of Superman must often deal with
bittersweet thoughts about the series and its star, George Reeves.
Often these thoughts take the form of what if questions like "What if
Superman and the Secret Planet had been filmed?" Most likely, many of
you know that the script for this proposed Superman movie was written
sometime during the run of the series. It's interesting to speculate,
then, about what Reeves, the cast and the crew could have accomplished
with a bigger budget and a longer filming schedule than the television
episodes allowed..."
"...For whatever reasons, Superman and the Secret Planet was never
produced. But, "What if…?" Indeed, what if the movie had been made...
and what if DC had created a comic book version from it? Well, maybe
we would have seen something like the pages you're about to see
here... my attempt at doing just that... my comic book version of
Superman and the Secret Planet..."
Page one of the comic, & so on:
You're not the only one who digs it, by any means. Randy took three or
four years to do it, and there'd be a new page every several months.
His work is brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
Randy said the original script simply ended in the office with the
usual banter, so he built a new ending, and it's terrific.
Thanks. I'm going to go read it again now.
A prodigious effort, and a great job with the faces, including the
character actors. And Joi Lansing!
Who's the guy playing Zonar? I recognize the face from a zillion B
movies and serials. but I can't place the name.
He's Tris Coffin, who was in four episodes of the show. He's probably
best known for his westerns.
Terrific work, and I'm surprised DC hasn't found a place to put it by
now... All-Star stuff, really.

Not to mention King of the Rocketmen!
(I also saw him on stage in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Amazing
what serious actors will do for a buck.
Not the guy I was thinking of, but it fits.
