I just watched Star Wars again. The Power
Droid says "Gwom..gwom..gwom chum chummya".
Gonk is dead! Long live Gwom!

-Chip

P.S. Watch when the Jawas open the Sandcrawler
door to line up the droids...Gwom can haul-ass too!
The little bugger was scared shitless!

Gonk is actually the name of a character in the Elvira movie. I haven't
seen it myself; this is only something I've heard secondhand.

hey did everyone see gonk in the x-wing game? that's right gonk is in it.
i tell ya that droid is everywhere. btw...anyone know where i can get back
issues of the old marvel comics series (both the u.s. and u.k. versions)? and
why can't i read or look at anything i download from wpi.wpi.edu? i've down-
loaded the esb + yodawavs zip and unzipped them but they don't work. this is
also true of everything else i've dowmloaded. yes i am using the latest un-
zipper (or whatever you wanna call it). also who taught the emperor the force?
yoda? or did he just learn of it from his jedi advisors and use it for evil.

thanx

that is no way to talk to your fellow man. really. i think you need some
manners or you have been seduced by the dark side of the force. if the later
is true i will try with all my know how to help turn you back to the light. if
not you will be consumed by the dark side and perish. as for knowing all even
the great yoda did not know all.

I am very proud to see a Jedi who is able to maintain his caps lock
key in the undepressed position. Perhaps, one day, you too shall weild
the Shift Key as dexterously as I.

Well well well, oh illustrious "jedi master jason." OK, if you are really
as knowledgable about the force as you say you are, you'd know that if I was
really seduced by the dark side, I could never be turned back to the light and
survive. The darkness would rather have me die than let me return to the light
. Remember Darth in ROTJ? He died, didn't he?! Don't give me that crap about
him taking his helmet off killed him, because he had his helmet off in one of t
he earlier two movies(which one slips my mind right now!)!!

It seems that your memory has failed you #38 or the German or whatever your
name is. If you remember in ROTJ when Luke was getting thrashed by the Emperor
he was being hurt badly but wasn't getting beat up enough to die any time soon.
The Emperor paused for a moment and said something like; "And now young
Skywalker, you will die." At that point the Emperor put more energy into his
lightning being shot at Luke. Darth Vader then proceeded to grab the Emperor
and throw him to his death. However, in killing the Emperor Darth Vader took a
good amount of high energy lightning blasts. Since Darth Vader is held
together by metal the lightning did more damage to him and his life support.
When you also add in the fact that Vader had exposed circuits...well I think
you get the idea. So to sum up the Dark Side did kill Darth Vader, from "...a
certain point of view." Also the Dark Side did not kill Darth Vader from him
simply being going back to the good side of the Force. In other words you are
wrong and should henceforth stop thinking you know it all when in reality you
know little.

May the Force be with you...

Gonk is a robot. His name refers to the sound he makes (Gonk or Gwom). He
first appears in ANH on the Jawa Sand Crawler. He looks like a grey filing
cabinet with short stubby feet. He, or a similar model, also appears in
RoTJ in Jabba's torture chamber. Poor Gonk is having red hot irons applied
to his feet!!

Gonk also appears in the game X-Wing. In the animated sequences where you
are preparing to take off (or have just landed) watch carefully and you may
see Gonk wander across the screen. Nifty!

Ohhh, so _that's_ Gonk! The Kenner action figure of him is called Power Droid
so that threw me.
