This was an interesting film.
It had a fantastic premise, but was otherwise played completely straight.
An actor is having trouble performing Chekov. He sees an ad for a soul
transplant service. If he has his soul removed for a couple of weeks he
will be able to do the play well!
Unfortunately (a) he can't act without his soul, and (b) the Russian mafia
steal it.
The whole thing was quite good, but spoiled for me a little by the
reluctance of those who make serious films to have an actual ending.

(I had a similar problem with an Australian film, Noise. A murder plot,
not fantasy. At the end the hero shoots the villain dead, but is himself
shot. The film ends with people rushing over to help him. If he is all
right, that is a happy ending. If he is dead it is a tragedy. But we don't
find out, and it spoils the film.)

It's *Chekov*, it's *meant* to be like that! (cf. "Of course Dublish
torte make sick, Dublish torte supposed to make sick" - Gahan Wilson.)

If the "Noise" you are referring to is the one with the young rozzer
with tinnitus, I suspect you missed the start of the film!
