"....I know nothing I perceive or experience can be trusted
absolutely -- especially in nSpace. Everything is suspect now.
Didn't some Greek philosopher say the only thing we can be sure of is
our own existence?" he continues, "But again, you're still not
explaining your reasons."
"There is no need to feel doubtful. You are not alone. We did
not intend to make you feel that you are the only one. Others have
similar encounters, but everyone experiences reality differently.
This is simply your life -- the way you are experiencing your unique
existence. Unfortunately I don't know the reasons for each specific
detail, nor the ultimate reasons they are needed. I have enough
programming to perform my function. How about you?" D-Voidrome asks
as he turns his gaze toward the Sentient, who seems to have fallen
asleep. Voidrome raises his hand and motions an odd pattern in the
air.
The Sentinel wakes with a start, "Oh, excuse me," he pauses for a
moment, then continues, "No, I really don't have all the answers
completed for you yet either. Some parts of my program are now spread
across time. I am always working on it, and by all evidence, will
have the answers after some duration. I feel certain they will be
explained to your satisfaction at that point. Presently, from what I
can calculate, the actions are a kind of insurance to enforce a
certain temporal order."
"The Temporal Order? So, are you suppose to be recruiting me into
this order,"ask UbiJed.
"In a sense", the Sentient snirkles, "I guess you can say it that
way. But I am actually talking about an 'order' as in a sequence – a
chain of events in time that need to occur in a certain progression,
to induce an optimal outcome."
"For the current time, so to speak," interrupts Devoidrome, "we
simply meant to keep your attention, to engage you and guide you to
make the right choices."
