For my USA readers: Do you (yes, YOU) know what your state's bond
rating is? Here in California, we have just received word that Fitch
Rating's has lowered California's long term bonds to BBB. Not quite
junk status yet, but getting close.

No. I could look it up, but why bother? I can't change it. And I'm
not going to invest in state bonds, i.e. coercion futures, no matter
how good the rating or the return on investment.

Texas is AA+ from Fitch and so is my local county.
Our school district is A1 from Moody's. I think they mentioned receiving
an upgrade recently, which gave a slightly more favorable rate and helped
with our property tax rates.

Here in Taxachuesetts, we're at AA from Fitch.
