Here is a poem I came across that touched me. I post it for anyone's
enjoyment.

Convalescing in London (by Thomas Disch)

Like a drunk treading on his trouser cuffs,
Time lurches past. Time goes too fast.
I don't know what to do
And lie awake in the dark, overheated room
listening, listening to
Time lurch past. Time goes too fast.

I may not move about too much, nor drink,
My doctors say. I went to the Towers today,
Where many famous men
and women. waiting to doe, found good things to say
About death (a friend). Then
A few bridges and Hyde Park. Now it is dark.

Since my hepatitis I'm afraid
I've not been entertaining. It's too hot
In here but when I raise
The window rain comes in, and noises
From the street. I cannot
Concentrate on anything, except the clock, ticking.
