Those who go to set a sight,
On animals in all their might,
Will find at every step and turn,
An image of the beasts that spurn;
All who visit, if they decree,
Unless they choose for us to see,
The wilful beasts do hide and stay,
In dens, voyeurs to keep at bay.
The icons clear do so perform,
Vicarious tasks, for those forlorn -
Wild beasts with breath and flesh and claw,
That seem each day to sleep the more.
The artist true has left a mark,
That seems to fill up all the park,
To see it is its own delight,
One quite forgets the fleshly might.

This was my response to the artwork associated with each animal enclosure
(painting of the animal in natural habitat)
Any comments would be welcome
