TIMEPIECES

pieces of time i have collected
i would trade them for
that lovely hair,
for your hair lover,
the coarsely woven
bracelets by the Masai,
hair of giraffe and
elephant tail.
my beads from Kenya
they are rare...
swirled lime and amber onyx
ancient bone and unakite
unstrung and rolling free
in a soap-stone box.
all the hands that have
held my treasures,
the hands that have felt
that lovely hair,
i would trade them for
your hair lover.
