THE CHECKERBOARD OF FEAR

The American youngsters in arabian sand
Didn't care to hide their fear
The way they felt, that way they talked
To news-hungry correspondents.
They didn't bother about the freedom boolshit,
"we are ready to die for oil".

The Mideast heat turned tv screens
Within the radius of thousands of miles
Into liquid gold.

Damn sad Saddam
Too scared to attack
Waited and waited
For the mindless western "peace" wave
To bloody drown
the coalition youngsters

Instead
He was "privileged" to watch
The downfall of terrorism.

Will one day
Stalin and Hitler and so on
(And all the idiots that admire "Leaders")
Be forgettable
In the quiet Global Village?

Perhaps not
But at least once
West gave it a good try

Welcome back Wlod! It's good to see you posting regularly once again.
I enjoyed this poem, although (or because) I have mixed feelings about
the subject. To the extent that the leaders of Iraq have behaved like
terrorists, I agree with your sentiments. I only wish I didn't have
the nagging feeling that our leaders aren't behaving much differently.
So without pointing fingers I submit the following:

THE WARAPE

Look at all the blood and seamen
Look at all the blood and semem
Look at all the blood and see, men
