family
youngest family members BLOG.
Both our fathers passed away in the late 20th century, 2nd millennia.
Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, Brothers and Sisters, all BLOG.
That means, we have family members who are BLOGGING from Europe, Asia and
Australia, as well as the USA, and not forgetting Canada.
*FAMILY* as in 2 expiring minds at psychedelic nirvana.

WHAT I DO KNOW IS THAT *face-book* HAS AN EVEN WORSE TECHNICAL SUPPORT,
COSTUMER SERVICE, OR EVEN COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT; THAN *micro-soft* I
NEVER-EVER WOULD HAVE BELIEVED SUCH A THING POSSIBLE!

We did not know this!
NO independent and separate mobile phone number, no face-book account.
You can not share the same mobile phone number for different face-book
accounts.
Now as we have never-ever own any kind of mobile phone or cell phone, then
we guess we will never-ever be able to open up a face-book account.
We say never-ever, because we have neither the need of desire to own either
a mobile phone or cell phone.

No, you must have a mobile phone if you want Facebook to send updates
TO YOUR PHONE.
If you don't want that, or don't have a mobile, just skip that part.
It's not required and I don't understand why you'd jump to that
conclusion. I didn't give FB any personal info I didn't want to when I
set it up.
You're getting all hot and bothered over something that isn't true.

_allegedly_ from Facebook that contained nasty viruses.the most recent one
was this a.m. I'm ultra cautious to never open anything like this even if it
makes it to the IN box.
Facebook does not send unsolicited emails like these -- but the baddies do.
Evidently the bogus message had this subject line: "Subject: Facebook
Password Reset Confirmation. Customer Message" and the ISP said it contained
a nasty virus called CMU-10088-20091106.
Gotta be careful out there...

Ha, reminds me of the other day when I went to MSN.com to find out where
I could start a web page since I use (expletive deleted) Qwest for DSL
and you're automatically connecets to MSN for your ISP. Now, since I use
Linux and only Linux, they wanted me to download some .exe file as they
scaned my disk, which they can't do and assumed I had this and that
virus. I got out of there in a hurry. Boooo M$!

There are a number of reasons I refuse to have anything to do with
Facebook, but they are as nothing to the ones I have against M$. I've
always been a Mac user, but I have had to deal with M$ from time to
time, always with irritation or worse.
But the web page reference struck a chord, too. My local phone company
is my ISP and cable TV company as well. I get 5 mb of free web page
space(I have to pay if I use more, but only for the excess). If you
write your own html(even old ladies can learn to do this, believe it or
not) and avoid frills, you can do a lot with that much space. I have
accounts of various trips to Europe, complete with fotos and occasional
maps, attached to my home page. From time to time I take down an old
one to keep the total size down when I add the latest trip. No ads. No
viruses. No M$ trash.

I have my Facebook preferences set to *not* send me email. I get the
usual messages on my Facebook page, suggesting "friends" and pages the
'bots think might interest me. They're sooo easy to ignore. I've heard
there are ads on there, but AdBlockPlus keeps them from cluttering my page.

couple of hours we had quite a diverse group of people wishing to become our
friends.
The real problem for us is that do not seem to be able to surf facebook, if
that is the correct term to use, to find people of a similar interests.
But total strangers do not seem to have any people what so ever in finding
us and asking to be our new facebook friend.
It is nothing at all like my-space, now we are not sure if that is a good
thing or a bad thing.

To find the extended RAM community on fb, you need to invite one of the
group to be a friend, and the rest of us will almost certainly follow along.
Most of us, anyway.
Perhaps you have enough of RAM via usenet, so be it. To find "people of
similar interests" my only suggestion is to use the "search" box in the
upper right. Various possibilities come up - groups to join, things to
become a "fan" of, et cetera. Looking at who posts to those pages might
give you some ideas of who to reach out for.
