In the past 10 years there have been several Comic Book character
that have came to life:
Batman, Flash, Superman, Superboy, Steel, Spawn, Blade, Spider-Man,
X-Men, Hulk, Dare Devil, Swamp Thing, Birds of Prey, Smallville; and the
Upcoming films of The Punisher, The Fantastic Four, Elektra,
Shazam! (Captain Marvel) and Man-Thing!
Lately its been mostly the characters from Marvel Comics that been most
successful, but The DC Characters has their successful run as well!

I would like to see more Comic Book characters come to life, in a Big
budget way. Some I would recommend are:
DC Characters: (other than Superman or Batman)
Green Arrow, Booster Gold, Black Canary, Aquaman, Wonder Woman,
Plastic Man, Dr. Fate, Ragman, Green Lantern, and Starman.

Marvel Characters:
Black Panther, Captain America, Sub-Mariner, Silver Surfer, Thor,
Moon Knight, Master of Kung Fu, Iron Man, The Vision, and The
Inhumans.

Mystic Genre:
The Warlord, Arion: Lord of Atlantis, Stalker: Man with the Stolen Soul.

Does anyone else have better ideas?

Dr. Strange!!!!!!!!!!!!! Particularly the early 'chapters' (Steve Dikto
period).

I was a huge Marvel fan from 1964 to about 1970, but can't imagine many
other types from that era that would translate well.

I gather that the Fantastic Four was made into a feature film that never saw
the light of day (a trailer is available on the net). A 'remake' would be
nice.

I still clamour for the old 'cut, paste and move slightly' Marvel cartoon
series from the 60s.

Roger Corman made it. It is available in Italy I think but you can *ahem*
get hold of it via Kazaa.
I've got it but haven't sat through it yet, although the Thing is supposed
to look quite good!

There have been whispers of a big budget "Dr. Strange" film in the works,
but I have no idea of where this project stands. It usually takes about 20
years after the first whisper for a Comic Book Character to be adapted to
the screen! There was a Dr. Strange movie made for television in the late
70s starring Peter Hooten, but it was so bland!

Spider-Man
X-Men
Hulk
Daredevil
Blade
Superman
Batman
All translated well to film!

There is a re-make in progress to that gawd awful Fantastic Four video. I
wonder if The Thing is going to be done with CGI?

That would be fine for the '60s, but today the people expect something
more modern and sophisticated!

How about Morbius: The Living Vampire to film?

In the early- to mid-nineties Full Moon Video released a flick called
"Doctor Mordred, Master of the Unknown", starring Jeffrey Combs in the title
role. Persistent rumour suggests that is was filmed from a proposed Dr.
Strange movie script, with names changed to protect the copyrights. It's
available on vhs at most big box rental joints.

That said, it's a fun little flick on it's own merits, and hey! Jeffrey
Combs in a Charles Band film. Fun, fun stuff. (and slightly whiffing of
cheese). Good for a rainy afternoon.

After the bores that were "Spiderman" and "Daredevil" and "The Hulk" I
hope that whatever they do, they do it better, and hire better actors.

Doyourself a favour and pick up the TPB's. It is an excellent series
of comics. I just wish the Mage license or movie would get a move on.

you'll want to cut my head off cuse' none of that is in bags with
boards.Although I doubt any of my collection is worth too much. How bout you?

If you like Adams work with Nocenti on Longshot you should check out her
work on Daredevil.
Also if you like character driven stories(ala X-Men) do yourself a big
favour and hunt down Suicide Squad by Ostrander-you can probably find them
for about a buck a piece.

I collect mainly trades now. Buying monthly got too expensive, so I
just go down to the store and pick up a TPB or two a month of
something that grabs me. Last two I got were the TPB's of LoEG Vol1
and Ultimate SPider-Man 1. Both very good reads. I Have most of my
single issues in bags and boarded, but that's because I purchased 'em
that way. If you enjoy the book, who cares how you store 'em.

I pretty much stopped reading teh X-Men around the time of Onslaught
and haven't really been back. I keep meaning to buy the recent TPB's,
but I cannot afford to at the moment.
