I think there should be a discussion of who is good-looking, followed by
how tall they are, then how some net reader is related to them in some
obscure way, then the obligatory discussions of how shallow the
poster is, and a statement to the effect that "women should get equal
time, so hows about it, ladies -- what guy do you like to look at".
Followed by, "Yes, but that's only the straights, so..."
Actually, doesn't this kind of thing pretty much reflect the
predictability of movie plots themselves? I guess if that's the
case, this may be just the appropriate newsgroup.

Oh yeah! She's the one that was in "Double Impact" with Claude
Van Damme, right? (I never saw this movie all the way through, but
when a friend rented it and was watching, it was all I could do
to unglue my eyes from the set. Absolutely beautiful.
I'm also in love with Linda Hamilton, but as I understand, this
can be an aquired taste.

Yeah, so I've found out too. Though, I'm pleased to see that I'm not

Does anyone here think that Helena Bonham-Carter is absolutely fascinating?
I'm not trying to say she's up there with people like Grace Kelly, Ingrid
Bergman et.al, but of currently active young actresses I'd have to say I
can't keep my eyes off her.
If we're going to say most beautiful of all time, I'd have to agree eith
those of you that said Ingrid Bergman, though. But beauty is always in the
eye of the beholder, right? :-)

C'mere, how come nobody has mentioned the Beautiful Emmanuelle Beart
Who could forget that face in Manon Des Sources or Un Coeur En Hiver.
After seeing her I started thinking that certain women possess a quality
which words can't describe. I agree with Grace Kelly in Rear Window or in
any movie for that matter. And of course there is always Isabelle Adjani
in The Driver or Nosferatu the Vampire.

Brando and "North by Northwest" oposiet Cary Grant. Talk about a blond
bombshell that has style.
I also agree that for impact Grace Kelly's stint of 6 movies in the 50's
before marying royalty put her in a class of her own. She also aged pretty
well from the photos I saw from her in the early 80's before her tragic death.
I also agree that she was at her best in Rear Window, talk about beauty :-).
Audrey Hepburn was also quite beautifull, but looked too fragile, she
prefigured the womens look of the 60's ( twiggy was the extreme of this
look ). I'dd put her as the beauty of the 60's, the last of the dying
breed of glamourous women that graced the screen.
The 40's women, at the height of the studio system, were glamourous women
shared the billing with the dashing men ;-). Its harder to pick one,
Ingrid Bergman would be near the top, will have to think about it a bit
before issuing a last word.

You should see some of her early German movies then. And there is her Swiss
debut as a teenager ( Gritli Schell? ) in "Steinbruch" (1946?). ( Or am I
making this up? )

Meg Ryan's great. Cute as lace pants, as Moose Molloy would say. But the
best thing about her is she doesn't need to be photographed glamorous
all the time. Like the scene in "When Harry Met Sally" when she calls
Billy Crystal over in the middle of the night. Without mascara her
eyes are like pin pricks. A scene that wouldn't have been as good
without her willingness to look bad.
My favorite Meg Ryan scene, as far as heart throbs go, is the one in
"D.O.A" where she dances around while ironing. Cute as lace pants.

I think she showed a lot of comedic talent in THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH
and SOME LIKE IT HOT.

I would also add that Jane March, of "The Lover", is also
promising. (If Beart is a goddess, then Jane is an angel. 8-) ) She
reminds me of a young Audrey Hepburn.
Speaking of Audrey, I think that she has more grace and
finesse on the screen than nearly anybody, but doesn't come close
to Beart in terms of sheer beauty.
Meg Ryan is cute, not beautiful. There's a difference.
