Hello out there. Yes, I am a newbie. However, please help,

I'm looking for films which feature, in a very broad sense, "Teenage love".
By this I mean people between 15 and 20 or so meeting, falling in love,
whatever. "Catholic Boys", 1984 (Poss. 1985) Michael Dinner, US, is a
striking example of what I'm talking about. Another one, which I have no
information on, follows a boy growing up somewhere in America, falling in
love, and eventually going off (to national service?). Other things I
remember about this film are that he and his friend play pool with some
hustlers and lose, his friend gets his (his friends) girlfriend pregnant,
the two boys occasionally race trains along the track, and he eventually
finds out that his (his) girlfriend isn't as rich as he thought she was.
As another example, Cinema Paradiso is an *excellent* example of the sort of
film I'm talking about.

Okay... here's the question. Can anyone recommend any more films that
feature this sort of "Teenage love" (horrible term really.) Films like
Pretty in Pink or Some Kind of Wonderful will do at a pinch. If you could
email me with a reply or two, I'd be eternally thankfull. And if you had
details of video availability in the UK of said films, that would be even
better.

*Please* email me - I just don't have the time to read all the articles in a
newsgroup that imports 200 messages in half a day.

Thanks very much! I look forward to your replies. If I've broken any
unwritten (or written) rules of this echo, then I apologise.

FLIRTING is an excellent teenage love story- it tells the tale of
an Australian boy attending an all boys boarding school who falls
in love with the daughter of an African diplomat at the all girls
school across the lake. Also has an interracial touch to it, as
she is black and he is white.

ZEBRAHEAD is an interracial love story which stars Michael Rappoport.
An interracial love story which is set against the backdrop of
racial tensions at an LA highshool.

SAY ANYTHING is a very sweet teenage love story starring John Cusack
and Ionye Skye as two teens contemplating their futures after high
school. She's the most popular girl on campus headed towards a foreign
college on an academic scholarship, while he's pretty much unsure what
to do with his future (army or kick-boxing?). The two most unlikeliest
people to hook up -- oh, and of course her dad doesn't approve of him.

Thanks! I'll try to get hold of a copy! Any more ideas? If you can think of
a film with the poignancy of Cinema Paradiso or Catholic Boys, but in
English, set in the past 30-40 years and concentrating slightly more on the
love affair, then please email me again!

Once again, thanks for the reply.

Thankyou! THANKYOU! I've been trying to find the name of that film for a
very long time, but I didn't know any of the people starring in it or
anything. Your reply is much appreciated!
