else, though, I was wondering has anyone seen such an explicit
male masturbation scene in an R-rated film before? Sure, it
doesn't go very far compared to porno, but I though penises being
touched by hands in an erotic fashion would have been an absolute
no-no in an R! Has the envelope expanded, or have other films just
been too chicken to try?

I take it you've never seen Bad Lieutenant. Tho.. I don't know if that scene was
cut of the R rated version. But technically it could be seen as an R film.

Actually, the masturbation scene was cut out of the R-rated version of
Bad LIeutenant. Of course, this left things up to the imagination of the
viewer as to what he actually did. Since I knew they had cut something
out there I assumed that he raped them or forced them to give him head...
See what happens when censors get a hold of things. BTW, the scene cut out
after he said "I do something for you, you do something for me," or words
to that effect.

Hmmm...the rental copy that I obtained contained the masturbation scene. I
didn't check the rating.

More explicit and it'll be pornography... You do see the guy standing there - in
front of two young girls - having a great time. Hand moving, sound - it's a
masturbation. There's no doubt about it.
But still I thought the movie was a waste of time. Read Maltin's review. I agree.

it's true there's no doubt it's masturbation; however i didn't think it
was all that explicit. he's standing there with his hand moving around
in his pants, partially obscured by the side-view mirror. i think an
"explicit" masturbation scene should at least involve a penis. in that
case, the scene in "sirens" is much more explicit.

It was extremely well filmed but it really reinforced how horrible
