The Russian p.r. site, EnglishRussia.com, has a neat, well-illustrated
feture on film projection at a typical Russian multi-plex movie
theatre. The article covers film from its arrival on separate reels,
to its cutting and splicing for platters, to its projection. Included
are some photos where the projectionist drops a platter full of film.
Digital cinema is also covered. Note that Christie equipment seems to
be predominant on the film side and Crown amps being used on the audio
side.
