"Kwai" was shot at 2.55:1 but all prints were optical mono which is
2.35:1. Original prints had the titles off center as a result.
You are correct in assuming that the 70mm prints made in 1973 had a fair
amount of the image cut off. The image was full height but there was
image information running all the way out to the perfs, underneath the
inboard magnetic stripes.
