This looks like a cheap and effective method for quickie news magazine type
impromptu recording when you want to record both sides of a call without
much prep. Just adapt it for a wireless transmitter and run it behind the
ear.

It works fine for capturing audio to a voice recorder (like the little
Olympus digital recorder I use for print journalism). The TP7 goes in
your ear, you hold the phone over the same ear, and the TP7 captures
both sides of the conversation. Not sure how the audio quality holds
up because I've not used it for anything other than capturing phone
interviews for print.
I think you can find a little more info on the olympus site...

oh yes, I see :-) my own have to be setup on the phone (and the
quality is very bad)

An ear monitor and a microphone are sometimes the same thing.... I
had never thought about it until I saw this hiphopster using an
earpiece from a pair of 7506's plugged into a hi imp mic input on his
DJ mixer... a-mazing in that it actually sounded ok...

Upon vieing the photograph, it struck me that it could
be simply an ordinary earpiece, re-purposed, re-labeled,
(and re-priced!) accordingly. :-)
