It looks pretty nice for the price. Build quality will surely not be
up to par with other SSL units, but is supposedly a very nice sturdy
PCB layout and should be above average and fairly durable for a studio
unit. DC power option would have been nice, even though it is a low
power draw, as would a private line and remote roll ability, but these
are nitpicks for a device not even aimed remotely at our market.

SSL needs to offer a much cheaper external EQ system, though, for this
system in general. The X-RACK stuff has a mixbuss and recall ability
that would be sort of pointless in conjunction with the X-DESK. When
looking at the price, remember because it is all DB-25 based, you must
account for the cost of cabling and / or patch panels when considering
it. I like that decision to go with DB-25, but it is deceptively
cheap if you don't remember connectivity.
