On-camera Mic for Z1

The title says it all I guess:

I've bought myself a lovely new Z1 camera and am looking for an
on-camera, slightly shotgun mic to go with it.
Anyone have experience with the Rode Videomic ?
Or other suggestions ?

I have mics, booms etc for more complex work, just need something for
when I'm tootling around by myself.

I like the Sennehiser ME66 on my Z1...

Well yes, there are on-board mics: an interesting combination of a wide
stereo pair grouped around a forward facing mono jobby AND they seem to
be insulated from motor noise and most zoom noise, but not from camera
handling. Better to have that little extra distance and use something
better on the (provided) cushioned and slightly detached mounting.

I do like the built-in stereo pair for crowd and ambient noise however.

Rode NTG1

Incredible value for money, and they now make really useful mounts for
going on camera.
