Anyone tried using Older Lectros as Camera Hops?

Anyone had experience (good or bad) using pre 205 series UHF lectros
as bag to camera links?
I realize there will be no IFB, so camera op will need to monitor the
signal.
I have used a 210 as a mono mix jump, and found quality fine for eng
use..
Oh.. my application is ENG and corporate
I am trying to find a way my clients will be willing to afford that is
better than a pair of Sennheiser g2's (I find the signal quality to be
too low grade with those).
I know.. the right way is with a Zaxcom ENG link.. can't swing it yet,
nor can I get enough rent from current clients to justify it.

But... I still want a better than Senn Evo quality way to get an
unmixed 2 channels to the camera by wireless. As I have a boom and a
board feed to send as separate elements.

I've used 185's, 190's, 195's 195D's and currently have been using 205's for
years as links. They are all just fine for ENG/Doc use. Never a complaint
and the shows I saw on TV all sounded fine.

I still use some 205s for this, and they work fine. Remember that a
camera link is usually not as challenging a situation for a wireless
as having the TX on an actor etc.
The RX are up in the air w/ the antennas clear, your TXs are pretty
clear of your bag as are the antennas for those, and you are often
only a few feet from the camera. The main issues are the size and
power consumption of the RX, shortening the camera battery life
significantly compared to later Lectro RX. I still use a VHF 185 for
TC link w/ some cameras, and that works fine almost all the time as
well.

Just one thing to remember if you are looking at the UCR200. It gets very
warm and draws about 500mA. From a servicing point of view, If I had to
choose from the older UHF, the 190 rocked.
