Caught the Lewton/Wise opus, "The Body Snatcher", on TCM today. As with Lewton's other RKO films of the time, this one is an effective little chiller with good performances by all around. Karloff was especially effective as was Henry Daniell. Bela Lugosi turned in a credible performance in an extremely minor role. All in glorious B&W!

AUGH! I missed this! I've seen it before but was looking for it to be on again... man, I cannot keep up with all the movies I want to see or record. I love Henry Daniell, he's one of my favorite character actors.

In case anyone is interested, "The Body Snatcher" is part of TCM's On Demand listings this month. I discovered that by accident today and was able to watch it again, despite missing it the other day.

A limited version of it, yes. We only get about 3 TCM movies at a time, while others report having something like a dozen films available. Guess it depends on the number of subscribers.

LOL, great
They tell us every few days it's now working, but channel 1 is never anything but 'coming soon' and the people who have tried it reports that it just kills their cable entirely for a few hours when they push the button.
