I'd never seen this Capra film before, so when TCM showed it recently,
I taped it, and watched it a couple of days ago. By the time I was
halfway through it, I realized I had seen it before, except then it
was called Holiday, didn't have the horse racing angle and starred
Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn instead of Warner Baxter and Myrna
Loy. I mean Broadway Bill is missing the Ned character, and the
skilled businessman who doesn't care about making money just for the
sake of making money has already married into the rich family instead
of only being engaged, but otherwise it's the same thing. Myrna Loy
seemed a lot younger in this than she did in The Thin Man the same
year. Anyway, Broadway Bill was enjoyable, with a good supporting
cast, although it is no Holiday.

Have you seen RIDING HIGH (1950)? Same story, many of the same
supporting cast; Douglas Dumbrille; Ward Bond; Frankie Darro; Margaret
Hamilton; Chas. Lane; Raymond Walburn, etc.
"Dough Boy, Dough Boy!" "Blitzed by my own chicanery."

No, it seemed pointless. And the comments here were pretty negative.
