Good source for hard to find DVDs?

Hey all,

Do any of you have recommendations for a source or sources of hard to
find movies on DVD?

In particular, I'm looking for a cheesfest titled The Hypnotic Eye and
the classic Colossus: The Forbin Project.

The DVD of "Colossus: The Forbin Project" is available from Alibris at
a spectacular $100 USD per copy. The VHS version, however, is about
$8.00 USD. You pays your money and you takes your choice.

The US R1 DVD listed at the above eBay link is butchered - note the
aspect ratio is listed as 1.33:1. I can't remember if it's cropped or
panned-and-scanned, but there was a big stink about this when it was
first released.

If you want it in the correct widescreen AR, you'll have to be able to
play non-R1 PAL discs and get the UK DVD:

No, not for thanking him, why would you buy a tape and dub it to DVD
when you could easily get the DVD on Ebay for about $15.00? However,
if some tape out there exists in the REAL format of the film and not
the stupid, stupid 1.33:1 format of the DVD, then I'd do it. I'd like
to KILL the morons in studios who still issue 1.33:1 format DVDs.

Weird, even the old laserdisc (released as a double feature with Silent
Running) was released in a letterbox format with the original Panavision
aspect ratio. So it's not like they didn't have a widescreen transfer to
go with. Even a non-anamorphic transfer would be preferable to P&S.
