Hey,
Shades of the Elephant Man. A mad scientist spots the daughter of a concert pianist and falls hopelessly in love with her as she resembles his dead wife. The plan here is to infect her father with acromegaly -- a bone distorting disease -- and offer the cure in exchange for the daughter. There is also a gorilla in the basement who has -- as they all seem to -- a taste for white women. Where the monkey fits in with all this eluded me since the mad scientist was experimenting with pigs.
This was composer Albert Glasser's first paying gig.
Directed by Sam Newfield (who made over 250 films under various pseudonyms) and starring J Carroll Naish, Ralph Morgan, Glenn Strange, Tala Birell and Ace the Wonder Dog, among others.
