Searching whether a song has been played in film

What's the best way to check if and where a song has been
"featured" in a movie?

I have a list and although I have had some success, I can't find
a consistent way.

Wouldn't ASCAP know that since licensing is involved? Don't know how
you'd get the infor but I'll bet the info is there.

and I got the soundtrack album with the single in it.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a database of the sort
I am looking for.
There is a list of the most voted for American Songs in films
with the film they appeared in.
I knew as soon as the letter "A" was headed by "Abba Dabba Honeymoon"
that it would not refer to what I consider great.
No reference to "Young at Heart" and "One for my Baby(and one more for the
Road)"
as examples.

If I were enrolled in IMDB would that give me the info I wonder. ?

I tapped "Moon River - Audrey Hepburn" in You Tube and got this ...

Maybe if you tap in some song titles of your own choice you'll get a
few good results there as well.

One possibility is to post your list of songs here. I'm sure some of
us can either match a few of the songs to movies or say definitively a
song hasn't been in a movie.

The minds on this ng is a pretty substantial database.

Easiest way (FAR easier than most of the other suggestions thus far, though
certainly not a guarantee of completeness) is to go to
http://us.imdb.com/search, find the section entitled Word Search, type in
some words (preferably uncommon words, and preferably in order), select
Soundtracks from the drop-down menu and click Go. I got a list of 26 films
using the song "One For My Baby (And One More for the Road)".

Coincidentally, I spent a thousand bucks getting the rights to quote that
very song in my book, a fact which this particular search engine will not
turn up.

There are 22 films listed as incorporating "My Melancholy Baby."

There are 188 films listed as incorporating some form of "Yankee Doodle."

But only 2 films incorporating "John Wayne's Teeth," my second favorite of
all the songs I've mentioned.
