I am in the process of working on a paper on Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein,
and I must "locate the film within a theoretical tradition of film practice."

This is a film theory class. If you don't know what I am talking about, I
have to say if the film is made in the tradition of Realism, Post-Modernis,
Formalism, Marxism.. blah blah blah : )

If no one knows for sure, opinions would kick ass too, just to help me on my
way.

Please email, and thank you -- so much -- in advance.

I love that movie!

"Young Frankenstein",
"Love at First Bite", and
"Zorro, the Gay Blade"

are three movies which take nothing away from the classic originals on
which they were based -- but only added a new angle of approach --
comedy with some depth to it -- to make new and positive contributions
to the genre.

And -- they each had that rare quality -- a sense of completeness.

Neon..have you seen the movie "Repossessed" with Linda Blair and Leslie
Nielsen? It's a spoof of her Exorcist role

I agree with you on the first two, but I found "Zorro the Gay Blade" pretty
stupid, and Hamilton as the gay brother was just embarrassing. Hamilton did
much better and funnier work in "Love at First Bite."
