That's funny. I don't think I've heard even one good review of this
film yet......

I am not that surprised. Even though this was the worst movie I have seen
recently, I had a feeling that people would go back to see Madhuri's
dances (even though, in my opinion, they weren't well choreographed at
all). They're certainly not going back to see the acting. Yaarana
managed to get average earnings only because of Madhuri's dances. I think
Rajkumar will go through a similar fate.

BTW, I am just getting sick of Madhuri and her ever-moving hips. She's
even started to walk funny. I liked Madhuri's performances when she
wasn't as successful, like in Dil and Tezaab. Now, all she does is dance
and expose. Some stupid Madhuri fan said to me that Rajkumar is the
Mughal-e-Aazam of the 90's. I just gave him a look and didn't even bother
to comment.

Since when did you start equating success with "good reviews", Anwar ?
You never waited for a single good review for "Ram Jane" ( that wait
would have been futile ) before declaring it a hit.

I agree that Rajkumar is not a hit, but you don't need a good/bad
review to prove/disprove that.

I believe it is you who said that a *good* movie is not necessarily a
*hit* and that all *hits* are not necessarily *good*. I definitely
agree with this. Rajkumar may not be a good movie, but it may
nonetheless be a hit, evidenced by the number of people who go to see
the movie in the theatres.

Just wanted to clarify -- I am not saying that Rajkumar is really a
hit, or good, for that matter. Of course I would just go to see it
because of...yes, you guessed it, Madhuri! The music and dance aspect
of the movie seem very good, too.

Does Rajkumar have Clive James in it as a bad guy?

a good review never guarantes a hit, example Akele Hum Akele tum had
good review still it flopped, but Raja had bad reviews and it was a hit.

For the information of the newsgroup, Rajkumar has flopped with a loss
of Rs 2 crore.

I think you're just being too hard on Madhuri. Why don't you realise the fact that Madhuri always overshadows her male co-stars in most of her movies? She stole the thunder from Anil Kapoor in Khel and Beta and again from Anil's brother (newcomer Sanjay Kapoor) in Raja. All you think about Madhuri is shaking her hips. She's a fine actress and Bollywood should be proud to get a gem like her.

i think madhuri should have stayed away from movies like rajkumar, prem granth and yaraana. but i'm glad that atleast madhuri attempted a movie like mrityudand which showed her true potential. i also liked her avenging angel avatar in anjaam. it was quite rare for an actress in the 1990s to attempt a role like this but madhuri gave it a shot and it was worth it. however, i felt there was too much blood and gore which didn't go down well with the audience and the movie flopped.
