Agora - Movie depicting Christian terrorism

While not completely true to history it does depict what Christians
inflicted on the Greco-Romans and Jews once they gained power.

We need more movies like this promoting the truth about this vile
cult.

Has this movie been released in any Indian theatres?

D. H.,

Why is the depiction in the movie not completely true to history? I
have just seen the trailer so it is hard for me to judge. But at
least three Christian accounts confirm the fact that Hypatia was
butchered by the Christian mob. Christian apologists have been
attempting to ridicule the positions taken by Gibbon or Sagan in
calling her an astronomer but we at least have fragments of Hypatia's
work on geometry that survive to this day and they lend credence to
the fact that she was a serious astronomer. I would like to hear your
agruments.

There one or two essays on the inaccuracies. Here is one of them:

http://faithljustice.wordpress.com/2010/06/01/agora-hypatia-part-i/

Discounting the historical inaccuracies as depicted scene-by-scene,
the general essence of Romans and Christians fighting, Pagans and
Christians fighting is captured.

The movie makers might be charged with artistic liberty, but the
destruction brought about by the early Christians on people in that
region is not far from truth.

I wasn't talking about her being an astronomer but about her
discovering the Heliocentric model, in that regard the movie took
some liberty. Afaik none of her work has survived.

Recently motivated so called "scholars" of science have been trying
to make it out that her death had nothing to do with religion. For
example:

In the words of David Lindberg, "her death had everything to do with
local politics and virtually nothing to do with science".[16]

"Islam and Christianity are vile cults. True. Thanks"

Speaking of "true". The history of the movie is not true. So you base
your hate on a lie?

The truth is that truth does not give way to hate regardless of from
whose mouth it drips.
