kamalA is [kamlA], achalA is [achlA] etc. but they can say [sabhA] or

That's correct. And "veda" is ved, "karma" is karm, "Ramayana" is
Ramayan, etc., because there's no "aa" maatraa at the end of those
words -- whether in Sanskrit or in Hindi.
