Two observations:
1. On 31/10/10 UPA 2 gave the 25th Indira Gandhi award for national
integration to A R Rahman and Ramakrishna Mission Narainpur. The
Mission is known to do o/s work in the field of education and uplift
of the poor. Rahman is a good music director no doubt. If it was
given to him for the Commonwealth Games tune must say that he was
paid Rs 5 crs for it. How can compare the yeoman and selfless service
by the Mission to Rahman's music. I am appalled by the Govt decision.
It was given to him because he was a Muslim.
2. One Movie/Tele starlet Rinky Chowdhury committed suicide in Mumbai
last week or was killed, the police will decide. Her mother'sname is
Kohinoor Mandal a Muslim. I was confused. Another paper reported that
Rinky's actual name was Shabnam. Sanjay Dutt's wife Manyata is a
Kashmiri Muslim but assumed a non Muslim name in Bollywood. Heard of
Bangladeshi's assuming Hindu names but thought Bollywood was secular!
