Hi,

http://jaiarjun.blogspot.com/2005/10/bolly-retro.html#comments

I seem to vaguely recall the tiger-durga thing. Was it used in another
film as well?

Cheers

Could be. But I can definetely jog your memory about Insaaf Kaun Karega
though.

Pran is a small time thief who runs away from home leaving his wife
(Nirupa Roy IIRC) and kids (son/daughter). The family moves out and
goes to a different town/city. Pran in the meanwhile has moved on to
slightly bigger thefts. He one day enters a home in the night and
kidnaps a little girl and sells her to a brothel keeper (Bindu).

<Fast forward 15 years>

Rajnikant is a police inspector who is hot on chase behind Pran. Pran
decides to bump him off and he enters the inspectors home again on a
night with the intention of killing him. He ends up meeting his wife
there and he realises Rajni is his son. He also realises that the
little girl whom he had kidnapped is none other than his own daughter
and she has grown up to be Jaya Prada (still in Bindu's brothel).

Now Pran repents and decides he will set right his past wrongs. He goes
back to Bindu but she refuses to give back Jaya Prada. In all this
Dharam keeps popping in and out every now and then, he plays JP's
boyfriend and Rajnikant for some reason is behind Dharam too IIRC.
Amrish Puri fits in somewhere in all this.

Hope this helps clarifying the vague recall ;-)

Well in a song in Mard,a tiger acts as an agent of Durga and drags
Nirupa Roy to Amitabh(who proceeds to break a coconut against his
head).I am not sure its the same thing, but the closest I can recall!

I am very intrigued by this statement in the site!

(This reminds me of something very funny I read recently about how many
Indians born around 1976-77 have been cursed with emotional insecurity
issues because their parents had been having "Nervous Sex" around the
time of the Emergency.)

May be it's related to the forced sterlization program of Sanjay Gandhi
during the Emergency time. May be people were anxious if they would
be subjected to that.

Yikes! Now _that_ is scary!

About the movie, I guess Jaya Prada managed to preserve her purity till
the end of the movie inspite of growing up in a brothel, right? :)

AP and I are somewhat conneseuirs(sp?) of raddi movies! You wont beleive
the number of useless movies I have watched and yes I also remember the
storylines, but unlike AP I am not sadistic enough to actually recollect
them on a public forum ;-)
