"Think like a Man." "Raven" and "Safe" do ok, but not that good. Of
course, they only opened at a couple thousand theatre rooms instead of
the 3600 a top film usually gets.

No, just wondering how it's possible that an ethnic movie could BE at
number one? Did whites stop going to the theatre? These Tyler Perry
type efforts do very well in their own group, but they don't usually
cross over ethnic lines.

Rich, you know ethnic movies have strong opening weekends. You know
African Americans, in terms of percentages, are more devoted filmgoers
and film watchers than white Americans. You add the possibility of a
crossover audience and you have a hit. You know these things so why
are you acting surprised?

Property values in black neighborhoods are zero ...that's why they've
been able afford to live there. Nowadays, though, you'll likely find
quite a few more "liberals" who'd be happy to have a wealthy black
family move into their white neighborhood.

If you had made similar remarks to 'reilloc' on the
many occasions when he has posted attacks on me rather
than comments to the point of the thread, then your
double standard would not overwhelm the point you are
trying to sharpen now.

As for racism, race baiting, etc., I haven't seen any
of the movies mentioned or alluded to in the o.p.
RichA deliberately used a politically incorrect word,
which may or may not be an expression of racism. But
the word alone was enough to bring the speech police
from miles around to string him up without even asking.

So the sum of what we've got here is one racist dummy writing a racial
slur knowing it's a racial slur and "reasoning" that it's fine to do so
if what you're intending to do is provoke your imagined enemies and
another racist dummy encouraging the first dummy's use of racial slurs
since they have the effect of doing what all racial slurs do: foment hatred.
