I would imagine the film ARGO was discussed here back when it opened. I
just got around to seeing it last night - and liked it very much. I
remembered the incident (not as clearly as I thought I would) from when it
happened in 1979-80. Knowing how it ended did not keep me from experiencing
it all over while it was happening on screen and crossing my fingers and
hoping they would escape safely. I loved the scene (one of many I loved -
also liked the comment re Jimmy Carter shitting enough bricks to build a
pyramid) where the flight attendant on the plane exiting the country speaks
into the loud speaker and tells the folks on board that the bar is now open
. . . we crossed the border.
Good cast; some were excellent. Supporting Oscars nods should go to John
Goodman and Alan Arkin.
