I recently read about a short film that was a hit at Sundance -- an
animated battle between Santa and Jesus Christ. Does anyone know where to
find it? I'm looking for a good laugh.

I posted about that film a month or so ago. A friend is trying to get a
copy for me.

Apparently it was made at least a year ago. No one I've talked to is
exactly sure where it came from. There are no credits on any of the
copies I've heard about.

The film is hilarious. A bunch of little extremely foul-mouthed kids run
into Jesus, who has come back to earth to wreck vengance on Santa Claus.
The kids take Jesus to the mall, and they fight viciously until Bryan
Boytono (spelling?) convinces them to quit.

A truly great cartoon.

Wow, it was really shown at Sundance? Then I guess we should soon be
able to solve the mystery of where it came from. I have had a bad nth-
generation copy of it for about a year, and it is truly great. The
rumor that came with my copy of it was that some advertising guys here
in Boulder got bored and made it. Sort of a friend-of-a-friend story,
so take that for what it's worth. I do hope it goes "official" soon, so
we can clear up the mystery...
Say, where did you read about it?

Would love to get my hands on a copy if anyone ever finds one. As
always, will keep checking with my sources.

The LA TIMES ran a story on it maybe a month ago. Apparently, two years
ago, a Fox (i think it was fox) executive wanted a cute video xmas card to
send to close friends. He hired two guys (they were listed, forgot the
names), who were paid about 700, to make the video. It snowballed from
there. Everyone was sending everyone copies. Go figure.

Actually, my friend has this little gem on his computer. There was a guy
in this newsgroup that was advertising it for his site one day, and we
dloaded it. granted, it took us a good three hours, but it was damn well
worth it. Our version does have credits, and even a web page. I will get
the page's adress for anyone that wants it, if they e-mail me. I'm not
even sure if JvsS is still on there, but if it is, it's worth the time to
download.

I think I can get a copy on video from another source, but the video copy
I'm supposed to get will NOT have credits.

Please give me the URL of the web page.

Thanks.

I was recently sent this from a friend who got it from a friend of a
friend who suppodely made it (since he has connections in the industry,
this would seem reasonable). My copy, tho, is about 4th generation and has
no credits. It is really hilarious (and extremly offending to some). I'd
glady make a .mov of it, however, its such bad quality that I dont think
it will do any good.

A little interesting note about it... The band "Tool" screened this
cartoon at their live shows just before Christmas.

It's called "The Spirit of Christmas" and the creators have now signed a
$1 million movie deal to create, uh, something. :) Great video.
