when i first saw the newspaper ads for The Iceman (2013)

http://www.redcarpetcrash.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/The-Iceman-UK-Quad-Poster.jpg

the actors names (Al Pacino and Robert De Niro ) were bigger than the actors who were actually in the movie.

I wonder how many people got 'suckered' into seeing the movie thinking Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are in it?

Maybe a few million or more?

That's a good way to sell a movie...
put Big stars names on the newspaper ads and movie poster ads
who are not in it. (cheaper than hiring them...it's free!)

So, naturally people ask, "Do you want to see the The Iceman (2013), honey?"

"Who's in it"? (is the first question everybody ask)

"Al Pacino and Robert De Niro!!!!"

The Starmaker

Then of course, the wife leaves the theater
and tells her husband,
"You fuckin told me Al Pacino and Robert De Niro were in it!!!"

Now I notice there are 4 stars under the name Pacino
http://upodcasting.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/image013.jpg

That's the first thing you notice about the poster ad..
Is Pacino a bigger star than De Niro?

There other actors names are in red, might as well make it black!
Blend in with the poster...

Somebody needs to tell Pacino and De Niro, "You know, *they* are putting your names on
movie posters you're not in."

Of course De Niro would complain there should be 4 stars under his name...

Who will die first, De Niro or Al Pacino? Is anyone in vegas taking bets yet?...

The real question is that based on the past several years' output by
either, why would having their names on it be a "draw" in the first
place? They are both way past being anything but parodies of themselves.

Who would you compare Pacino too then?

It's good to see that Michael Shannon is doing so
well. With his startling performance in 'Revolutionary
Road' (2008), for which he should have won the Oscar
for supporting actor, it was suddenly clear that he was an
actor of great potential. Before that I had seen him only in a
minor part in 'Pearl Harbor' (2001).

I didn't notice anyone doing a review of the new movie
The Iceman (2013)
in the newsgroup rec.arts.movies.current-films...
why do you suppose that is?

I'll tell you why that is...
a review will come in the newsgroup
rec.arts.movies.current-films
as soon as it is available
on a torrent site for download.

Then, and only then
will you see people
reviewing the film
The Iceman (2013) .

And after they download it
from a torrent site,
they start the review with..
"I just saw it in a theater..."

But since it isn't on a torrent yet,
nobody has given a review of it.

Just wait and see...
the minute it's available for download,
in comes the ...review.
