The True Grit remake isn't even the most interesting of Damon's
upcoming movies listed in the above link. He's doing a new Eastwood
and a Soderbergh directed Liberace bio-pic (?) as well.

Fwiw, I think he and Soderbergh served each other very well in THE
INFORMANT! ...and I wouldn't be surprised to enjoy this new gay-bio
collaboration as much as I did the recent Penn/Van Sant one -- i.e., a
whole lot.

I was thinking more along the lines of Demi Lovato.

Will it be called "The Performer!"?

Having seen every Coen Brothers movie ever made, it's
painful to have to say I won't see this one, and very
disappointing that the Coen Brothers care so little for
what once was their most striking trait, their originality.
They seem too young to have betrayed themselves.
(And I didn't like the first 'True Grit' all that much.)

If you haven't read the source novel, you might find something there
to your liking--and based on their last literary adaptation, one they
can do well. I'll see it for the casting alone.

You better have an eight year old girl living in your house, or you
have no business knowing who Demi Lovato is.

Was "The Man Who Wasn't There" any good?

I liked it. As I recall, it had a neat plot. Billy Bob Thornton
was good as the dull and deadpan main character, much
like people used to accuse me of being. In the DVD
commentary it was funny when the Coens agreed with
Thornton that the script had many great lines, but none of
them had been given to Billy Bob.

I hate coming in at the end of conversations.... Who is remaking True
Grit? I hope they can find a better actress than the one they had in the
original. She was annoying!

One of my never happen projects is to get a sweatshirt made up with a
pic of BBT in a barber shirt and a Lucky going--and the words "I'm
Crane" underneath.

Bridges is an apt actor, but no way he can evn come close to filling John
Waynes shoes. Terrible idea!
