Question about "Old" Movie (Rendition, 2007)

I never heard of this film until a DVD I rented had a trailer for it.
Then I found it in my library, looking brand new. Until I read Roger
Ebert's review, I thought it was a new release. I Googled ramcf and
found a single post on it.

This all stunned me. Big budget, serious films, films that get four
stars from Ebert, I am not likely to *not* be aware of from some
avenue or other. I like Reese Witherspoon, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Peter
Sarsgaard; I love films dealing with the U.S.'s international/military
situation; and I watch a lot of movies. I don't recall any publicity
for this one, any blurbs on syndicated t.v. magazines about "Reese's
latest"--nothing. Above all, I don't recall any discussion of the film
as deserving of Oscar nominations (as it definitely was). It ranks
with Syriana, which you couldn't not have heard of before, during, and
long after its release.

Ratatouille was called the best picture of the year of 2007 by a hell
of a lot of people--a comic about a freaking rat.

Some things are just mysterious.

i think if i arsed myself 2 of top 3 of last ten years according to
critics is animated crap, cuz ah its just for kids is a great excuse
for lets get retarded, remember shrek any1? however iirc rendition is
also a drag
