I hesitate to enter this conversation at all, but I feel that NOTINSTEP should
be represented, too.

Ken Mazur, aka NOTINSTEP, has got a resume that would make your head spin.
There's no question he has experience and is not talking mindlessly. He has
some very interesting ideas about the activity...most of them are quite good
and well thought out, IMO...however, due to his agressive nature, many people
cannot read past his tone to see what he is saying. I think it would be
worthwhile if we tried it.

I have known Ken for a while and have talked extensively with him. While I do
not agree with everything he believes, I do respect him for what he's
accomplished already. Try to really find the meaning in his posts--I promise
it's there.

And to any of you with AOL...look him up sometimes--send him an email. IMO,
it's very worthwhile to try to get to know him a little better. You really
might be suprised at what you find in him and about him--I know I was.

Thanks for your time reading this--sorry it was a little long.

Well put, Matthew. (Must have something to do with the last name.)

One thing I think we all should remember - there are MANY people involved in
the various aspects of our "activity" with extremely impressive resume's. Ken's
just seems to be out there more than most. And, like many others, he worked
very hard to get where he is now in his life.

What is really important, however, is how you use what you have learned and
done in order to build that resume' and portfolio that counts most.

I am really glad to hear again and again how long and great of a resume that
Ken Mazur has. I don't care if he marched since creation and can take anyone
on the planet on a drum. I am sure he can I have seen his resume. The point
is that instead of trying to get people to understand what he says he has to
bash everyone he can. I agree with a lot of what he has to say about show
design and show designers BUT I would never stand behind anyone as abbrasive as
him. I don't mean to flame him just his tactics.

I will agree with you that his tactics could use some work...I just didn't want
him to be unduly flammed.
