the Rev. Dr. Alfred C. Acer will deliver the invocation and benediction;

Company will hold a brief service and then the parade will continue down River Road

FREEHOLD: A Salute to World War II Veterans, Monmouth County Historical Association

veterans and their families are invited to attend a reception and view Home Front, a
museum exhibition; the general public is also welcome to attend; refreshments; the
exhibition will close in June.

FREEHOLD/FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP: Parade, downtown, West Main Street; (732) 409-6544;
kickoff 10 a.m. Monday; includes the Color Guard of the Central Jersey chapter of the
82nd Airborne Division Association.

HOLMDEL: Ceremony, Memorial Circle, town hall; (732) 946-2820, ext. 1225; 10:30 a.m.
Monday; join Holmdel VFW Post 5918 and the Holmdel Parks and Recreation Advisory
Council as they honor those who have served in all wars. Coffee and refreshments will
be served.

HOLMDEL: Ceremony, New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation, Parkway Exit 116;
(732) 335-0033; 11 a.m. Monday; Marine Sgt. Stephen K. Ritter, a member of Marine
Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 775, will be the guest speaker. This year's ceremony
will also include the awarding of two scholarships and inductions into the In Memory
Program. Admission is free for all visitors on Memorial Day and the Educational
Center will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

KEYPORT: Fifth annual parade, Maple Place; (732) 946-2711; 1 p.m. Sunday; continues
along Broadway and West Front Street; more than 20 groups including American Legion
Post 23, VFW Post 4247, Keyport Fire Department and Keyport Central School marching
band, the Monmouth County Police Pipes and Drums, and the color guard from Earle
Naval Weapons Station; hosted by the Keyport Business Alliance.

LITTLE SILVER: Parade and Services, Parker Avenue and Willow Drive; (732) 842-2400;

members; memorializing those residents who served and sacrificed in the Vietnam War,
10:15 a.m. Jerry Morgan Park, Long Branch Avenue; presentation of essay contest
awards, 11 a.m. City Hall, Broadway; followed by open house at VFW Post 2140, Willow
Avenue.

MANALAPAN/ENGLISHTOWN: Parade and ceremonies, Manalapan Township Complex, Route 522,
court parking lot; (732) 446-9235; 1:30 p.m. Monday; parade start time 2 p.m.; there
will be a service at the New Veterans Monument. Grand marshal will be Dave Chemelew.
The parade will head west on Route 522 toward Englishtown (Tennent Avenue) and turn
right on Main Street and stop for memorial services at the Englishtown Monument. It
will then continue on Main Street to the John F. Kennedy Monument (Wilson Avenue).
After the services refreshments will be served at the American Legion Molly Pitcher
Post 434.

MANASQUAN: Concert and gala fireworks display, Main Street Beach; (732) 223-0544;
7:30 p.m. today, featuring the band, Moonlighting; rain date: Sunday. Services and
parade, Squan Plaza, stepping off at 10 a.m. Monday with a ceremony to follow;
conducted by VFW Post 1838.

MATAWAN: Parade, St. Clements Parking Lot, Route 79 South and Freneau Avenue; (732)
566-3898, ext. 8; 1 p.m. Sunday; parade will begin at 2 p.m.; ceremony will follow
the parade at Memorial Park; refreshments will be served at Sultan's Palace Parking
lot on Main Street after the parade.

MIDDLETOWN: Ceremony, Shadow Lake Village, flagpole entrance located on Loch Arbour
Way off Nut Swamp Road; (732) 933-5984; 10 a.m. Monday; in the event of inclement
weather, it will be held in the Clubhouse ballroom; to honor our brave veterans who
fought and died for our freedom in this nation; sponsored by Kiwanis.

MIDDLETOWN: Parade, Bayshore Middle School, corner of Leonard Avenue and Leonardville
Road; (732) 291-9579; 10 a.m. Monday; parade will proceed down Leonardville Road to
Appleton Avenue, down Center Avenue to Brevent Avenue, right on Highland Avenue, left
on Leonard Avenue, and right on Viola Avenue to the post home; sponsored by the

MIDDLETOWN: Services, World War I Monument, Church Street, 9 a.m. Monday; Korean War
Monument, Wilson Avenue, 9:30 a.m.; World War II Monument, town hall, Kings Highway,
10 a.m.; Vietnam Monument, Harkins Drive off Palmer, 10:30 a.m.; Veterans Monument at
VFW Post 2179 home, 11 a.m., refreshments served after services; sponsored by VFW
Post 2179 and Ladies Auxiliary.

MILLSTONE: Parade, Clarksburg Post Office, Route 524-Stagecoach Road (near Scooters
Corner); (732) 615-8987; 10 a.m. Monday; ending at the Veterans Memorial next to the
old Clarksburg School; ample side-street parking is available for the public at
Bowman's Court near to the memorial; N.J. Army National Guard troops will
participate; many riders on horseback from Millstone area equestrian associations are
expected; special honors ceremony will be held at the Veterans Memorial; N.J. Army
National Guard Col. Angelo M. Capolupo, a recent veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom,
is the keynote speaker. Following the ceremony, the Clarksburg Inn will host a
barbecue, free to the attending public; cash bar is available.

MONMOUTH BEACH: Service, firehouse, 24 Beach Road; (732) 229-2204, ext. 10; 10 a.m.
Monday; speakers, wreath placement.

NEPTUNE/OCEAN GROVE: Parade, town hall, 25 Neptune Blvd.; (732) 988-5200, ext. 272;
10 a.m. Monday; proceeds east on Route 33 to Veterans Memorial at Route 71 and
Broadway, Ocean Grove; pause for ceremony and proceed north on Route 71 to east on
Main Avenue, turning left on Ocean Avenue and arrive at the Great Auditorium, Pilgrim
Pathway, about 11:15 a.m. with Mayor Thomas J. Catley and guest speaker from Fort
Monmouth; refreshments follow at VFW Post 2639, 1515 Corlies Ave. Participants
include Neptune and Ocean Grove First Aid and Fire, Neptune Township Police and EMS,
Cobra One Motorcycle Group, Chapter One Blue Star Mothers (Mothers of sons and
daughters serving currently), Gold Star Mothers (Mothers of sons and daughters killed
while in the service), Boy Scout Troop 190, Greater Neptune Chamber of Commerce,
Neptune High School Band, Asbury Park Middle School Marching Band, Earle Naval

NEPTUNE: 56th annual parade and ceremony, Shark River Hills Memorial Park, South

and township officials will be joining the membership and the fire departments as
they march as a community to honor the soldiers of past wars.

NEPTUNE CITY: Parade, Knights of Columbus Building, West Sylvania Avenue; (732)
776-7224; 10 a.m. Monday; the parade will end at Memorial Park on Riverview Avenue
where a short ceremony will be held; after the parade residents are welcome to go to
the firehouse for a hot dog and a soda.

OCEAN TOWNSHIP: Ceremony and parade, town hall, 399 Monmouth Road; (732) 695-2973;
ceremony 10:30 a.m. Monday; honorees are the Schenck family, the Stiles/Ford family,
and the Horn family, participants include Ragtimers, Ocean Township High School Band,
and The Funny Factory Clown Band; parade begins 12:30 p.m. at Monmouth Road and
Sherman Avenue; parade route will be going north on Monmouth Road to West Lincoln
Avenue, west on West Lincoln Avenue to Whalepond Road to the festival grounds where
the picnic will be held at Joe Palaia Park following the parade; music, food and

at school and end at Victory Park where the service and placing of the wreaths will
take place.

SANDY HOOK: Walk, Fort Hancock parade ground; (732) 872-5970; meet at flagpole, 2
p.m. Monday.

SEA BRIGHT: Service, fire station, 1999 E. Ocean Ave.; (732) 842-0099; 11 a.m.

We just got a new Jersey Mike's sub shop out here in Calif. They are
having a contest and the winner gets a trip for four to the Jersey Shore.

That's correct Mike. The winner gets a trip to the Jersey Shore. The
losers have to make two trips.

And - in NJ practically every weekend during the spring and summer.

I forwarded this thread to my sister-in-law, who lives in Toms River.
For some reason, she wasn't amused......

But, Mike's is kickin' butt on Subway and Quizno's out here.
Californian's finally getting a "REAL" sub.
