Have you seen the youtube videos ?
The airport works with constant take offs and landings as well as
ships that move in the harbor.

ROLL TIDE

I've seen them now! Thanks for the tip.
Yeah, they're postponing the start of the semester for students,
faculty, and staff to attend the game in Pasadena. Roll Freakin'
Tide!
The reincarnation of our old corps works the concessions there as a
fundraiser, so tell 'em to BUY MORE BEER!
(Do they know what Pasadena is like in Jan.?)
Tuscaloosa, Alabama: a drinking town with a football problem.
Oh, I think they have a pretty good idea, considering they won their
very first - of their twelve - national championships there. The
year: 1926. The teams: Alabama and Washington. The score: 20 - 19.
Alabama has made so many trips to Pasadena, they're thinking about
calling it their "home-away-from-home." ;-).

Except that in the state of Alabama, they passed a law limiting the
alcohol content of beer to 5% or less. A ploy to get a miller factory or
some such thing built in state. They might not be able to handle that 6%
stuff (or higher) that they serve in the rest of the nation.
Wrong! I've been drinking beer, for several months now, that far
exceeds the 5% you mention. Hell, even before the new law, we were
drinking beer up to 6%. You really need to hone your fact-checking
skills:

What's to check? I lived in Georgia on the Alabama border for some 4
years. It was a FACT when I lived in those parts. Now I may not be
current on my facts. But circa '94-'98 it was a FACT. It's why you
didn't cross the border to get drunk, you couldn't drink enough beer to
accomplish the task. And why you didn't cross the border with beer from
the neighboring state, so that you didn't get busted for bootlegging.
Heh. A change as of May of 2009, they still may not be USED TO the
higher content beer just yet.
You just didn't go to the right places. Alabama, up until this new
law, had a cap of 6%, not the 5% of which you speak. I stand by my
assertion that your research skills appear flawed. I rarely use ten
year-old information and spout that as FACT until I check to see if
something might have happened while my head was buried.
Trust me, as long as these 'Bama boys have been cookin' and runnin'
shine, they can handle a weak-ass beer, even at 13.9%.
Bear in mind that I was living in Georgia at the time. And that number
was one quoted by locals. Along with that big billboard at the state
line of 50,000 people will get their GED this year alone.

No doubt. For those that drink stuff other than beer. Do they serve
drinks other than beer at the game?
As far as facts...

5% by weight. (6% by volume)
No alcohol allowed in Bryant-Denney Stadium - unless, of course, you
happen to be in one of the VIP boxes. Boot flasks, and sorority girls
taping flasks to their thigh, is a very common occurence.

Agreed.
...this is one of those "funny" discussions...I was in Alabama 4
(ahem) decades ago for a 6 month stint learning the helo-co-peter
gig and never gave one thought to percentage of alcohol in my
beer...we just drank it anyhow and it worked fine. ;0)

I remember some TV show back in the late 70's or early 80's where they
matched college students in non-traditional sports...like competitive
beer drinking. They had four kids on each team and did a beer relay.
Four times down the line, and the first team done won. USC vs 'Bama,
the Trojans finished their fourth flight as the Crimson Tide were
finishing their third flight. All the trash talking the 'Bama team did
before the match went for naught. They thought they could out drink
the rich kids.

Mr Poche?
Garry Parker is an ADMIN for DCP.
Perhaps YOU can appeal to HIM and get results.
To a certain point... Then Mr Parker will drop you like a HOT POTATO.
Fair Reporting? I wouldn't rely on Mr Parker in regard to DCP
In my INFORMED opinion.
He's one of those that FORGOT how they posted on RAMD.
SHIT... DCP Admins having a complex? I haven't seen YOU post on RAMD
in a long time.
Mike Davis either. What's up?
Why is Mr Parker HERE?
Sharon
They come when someone spies on us and goes and tells the Admis closed
meetings.when we speak of them.
I don't think so, not as far as I know. Are yiou sure on that? Since I
am one, I'm pretty sure I'd know, but then again I am a terrible admin
when it comes to knowing what's what. :-)

Actually, I have posted very little on DCP recently too. Between my
increased work load at my "day job", my teaching schedule with the
band, and my son's wedding on Halloween, I've been pretty busy in
general.
MIke
Congrats on the wedding ! ( really ON Haloween ? anything special
or just nice fall colors ? )
Yup...10/31!
Their original idea was to go in costume but they ended up doing just
nice fall colors.
Bridesmaids wore chocolate colored dresses..very nice!
They dd have a few Halloween touches.
Mike
Then he certainly presented himself a certain way to ME that is
different than what you write.
Ah? Typical.
