Release Candidate 2 of CellarDoor for PalmOS is available at
sourceforge.net for downloading. Full documentation, download links,
discussion forums and the like can be all found at:

http://cellardoor.sourceforge.net

Changes:
- Rudimentary support for Glk graphics in textbuffer window (no text-
flow, always left-aligned). It's not ideal, but at least you can see
frontispiece and other graphics now.
- New version of palmPNG (thanks selmi)
- Fix for off-by-one pixel when drawing input line
- Recording/playback now possible from non-0 window (Glk)
- Fix for unwanted MORE prompts when playing back recordings (Glk)

Have fun with it

It occurs to me that I should have probably noted that CellarDoor is a
PalmOS interpreter for Z-Machine (V1-V8, incl. V6) and Glulx story
files, including blorbed files with graphics.

Hi JB,

looks like most people here are using Mac's :-)
Do you have any plans to support games which can be played without a
memory card ? I happen to have a Z22 (yeah, that's a bare-bones, no-
frills PDA, but that's enough for me), which does not have a memory
slot. It'd be great to play Glulx and V6 games on my Palm. I am
currently using it with Frobnitz, which uses a PDB format, but it does
not support Glulx and is not a native ARM application.

Thanks,

Wei-ju

Me too, but I like to play on the train or in bed sometimes, and a
laptop's not always practical.

Unfortunately, the Z22 has a bunch of "features" which make it
unsuitable for CellarDoor. First, it has a low-resolution screen and
second, no memory slot. I don't know if Kronos works on devices
without memory cards, but I'm pretty sure that it will work on lo-res
machines. There's a sourceforge.net project called "Glulxek" from Luis
Fernández, based on Kronos, which might work for you.

Nah, that's great that you offer an IF interpreter for the Palm :-) I
was just playing on the fact that your first release candidate
contained MACOSX files :-) The second release candidate does not. Is
there a reason for that ?

I see, since it seems that the PDB format is rather simple (which the
games would be needed to be converted to to run without a memory
card), I guess that the screen resolution is the bigger issue (that's
probably why Frobnitz has problems displaying the upper window
properly on several games). Thanks for the advice !

Hm, no luck, both Kronos and GlulxEk (since it is based on Kronos)
don't seem to support PDAs without memory card slots.

What files? Like ._DSStore or something? If they were there, it was
for no other reason than sloppiness. Yes, I prefer my Mac to the other
box I'm asked to work on from time to time.
