Since not everything a person owns is worn or carried -- or even
tangible -- the included example "Testing Area" illustrates how to
modify the player's inventory listing so owned areas appear as well.
Miscellaneous things supported:
* Disjoint maps -- If you want to create a work with no cardinal
directions at all, but still have actual locations and travel, this
extension is designed with this in mind. (But cardinal directions
still enjoy full support, of course.)
* INVITE, etc., default to the current interlocutor when used with
Eric Eve's Conversation extensions.
* VISIT, etc., are all interchangeable for the player's benefit, but
each prefers particular kinds of things. For example, VISIT prefers
people over rooms, and rooms over props, in cases of disambiguating
between similarly-named objects.
* Ownership is done at the region level, not the room level. All
actions work equally well with rooms or regions for the player's
benefit. Rooms declared "public" can always be visited.
* Disambiguation prefers same-region names. If each house is a
region, GO TO KITCHEN will prefer the same house's kitchen.
* Invitations can be single-use. PERMIT creates a permanent, open
invitation. A rulebook controls whether the player is asked if he
would like to leave a place that would expire his invitation.
* The documentation shows quick examples of how to implement traveling
to last-known or mistaken locations, block access to Unvisited rooms
or Unknown items, and NPCs grumbling about other NPCs preventing them
from going places.
Comments and feature suggestions are very welcome.
