We're halfway from the initial announcement to the deadline for the
rec.*.int-fiction chicken-comp. A mere ten days remain for you to send
in your entries: the magic address is gri...@retina.net.

To recap: to qualify for the chicken-comp, your entry must abide by two
rules -- it must be short, and it must somehow incorporate "a chicken
crossing a road". Aside from that, be creative, be entertaining, and
send your entries to the aforementioned address by June 15th.

Good luck!

Is anyone trying this? As one of about 10 mini-comps proposed, I was wondering
if anyone else even noticed it.

It seems great for a first completed game, so I will probably enter.

I was impressed by the high seriousness of the original announcement and the
obvious importance of the subject.

Yup, I'm in. My first game (pats little tiny game on head).

I'm planning to enter. Although I'm afraid my entry is getting too long. How
long is short?

Me too, as soon as I have the time to write it.

Well, I believe there are only three genuine mini-comps: The original and
much maligned "Your Take On It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World", its much maligned
spin-off "Your Half-Assed Mad Mad Mad Mad World", and the now infamous
"Chicken & Road" contest.

I'm so excited, I don't know which game I should fail to complete first....

Me too. My first completed Inform project, and even *less* involved
than Comp97's "E-MAILBOX."
