Lovers of interactive fiction, rejoice! Choice of Games, a quirky
independent games company, has just released our first two interactive
fiction titles for Amazon Kindle. Both games are available now in the
Amazon Kindle Store.
In our first game, “Choice of the Dragon,” you play as a dragon who
kidnaps princesses and sleeps on gold for fun. You’ll dominate the
local kingdom, loot and pillage, and inspire terror in the hearts of
your enemies.

Our second game, “Choice of Broadsides,” is a swashbuckling naval
adventure, in the spirit of C. S. Forester’s Hornblower or Patrick
O’Brian’s Aubrey/Maturin books, with a dash of Jane Austen. As a young
officer fighting the Napoleonic Wars, you’ll take command of a Royal
Navy frigate, earning glory in the name of the Crown.

Enjoy!
Nice. I will have to update my "mobile IF" post. :)

IF is like pr0n: better from amateurs with passion...
I don't disagree much on the example, as expected from an Italian, but
fully agree & concur the concept that amateurs do IF better :) [1]
[1] the paraphrase of a certain 1980s singer's high opinion of Italian
in the second sentence ought to not be juxtaposed to the first sentence ;)
Best regards from Italy,
dott. Piergiorgio.
I think you'll find that our multiple-choice games are more
sophisticated than traditional CYOA. Specifically, our games have a
world model, which changes based on your choices. Emily Short wrote an
interesting critical article on this style earlier this year:

Don't miss out on good interactive fiction merely because it doesn't
have a parser.

OK, I know that these days I'm mainly a lurker, but FYI, i'm a
relatively old-timer, and I play and code IF since 1980s (albeit all my
work is in an "eternal WIP" stage...)
I keep silent and moderately inactive until I7 reach a stable state,
because I have eternal WIPs I wisely wait until I7 as language is stable
& defined (no criticism here)
Happy new year 2011, and Happy Adventuring !
I liked the fact that stories aren't location based so there is a lot
of potential for the narrative(s) to develop in ways not
so easy with text adventure - of which I'm a big fan so that isn't a
criticism. I'm looking at ChoiceScript and
definately going to try my hand at an IF using it.
For those who don't already know you can play a whole bunch of IF
classics, Zork etc., by pointing your Kindle browser at

Looking forward to a lot more IF on my Kindle.
Cheers
Clive
it's proper screen for reading surely make it a desirable place for IF
and I was wondering...
BTW, I googled for /mobile interactive fiction/ and hit this:
"What is a moook?
A moook stands for a Mobile Book which is designed to be read on a
mobile phone, PDA or other mobile device. Each moook is usually around
10 chapters long and each chapter contains 10 to 15 sections. The
average length is around 25,000 words. The reader makes decisions on
the progress of the story by choosing options in the sections which
lead to different sections depending on the choice. This makes the
stories interactive - something that is difficult to achieve with a
normal book."
CYOA reimagined for the emo vampire generation... ohmy, we should've
simply trademarked IF long ago... :p
at least it seems a much more successful enterprise than parser-based
IF. Here's the link for authors wanting to publish in the format:
