Hello! My mother has just taken up pastels, and I want to get her a book on
using pastels (techniques, etc.). As I am on a limited budget, could any of
you recommend a book that aould be a good one for her. Plenty of colour
pictures, techniques, not too pricey.

Sorry for crossposting, but I am not an artist myself so didn't know which
was the best newsgroup to use. Because of this, it would be very useful if
you could E-mail me direct on Trista...@rocketmail.com

Thanks so much

Tristan

Get her Wolf Kahns book but better yet, buy some of our M Pastel Sets.
We are starting another department where you can buy handmade pastels and
papers from M. They are the best in the business so expect to pay top
dollar for top performance.

The paper is sold by sheets and the pastels by weight you can get
landscape sets or mattison sets (which tend to be for the colorists).

We have not yet put this department in full swing on the net yet but anyone
interested is welcome to send your questions.

Hi Tristan,

Try "The Encyclopedia of Pastel Techniques" by Judy Martin. This has pastel
types, techniques, and lots of interesting themes to spark the imagination.
