After 20 years of commercially competitively illustrating/painting wildlife
art, I've taken a turn toward loosening up, painting landscapes in oil and
acrylics, many on location. About 60-70% of my initial work is blocking in
and refining with a palette knife....very hap-hazaardly attacking my panel
and board, and then finishing with smaller brushes by painting negative
space and light to suggest detail.

I'm having a blast...wondering if any other landscape painters visit the
newsgroup here?

Visit my site.....forget the sales pitch stuff. Go past my other portfolio
genre things offered there to my landscape stuff off my "gallery" page.
Let me know whatcha think! Peace and all good things.....!

I've been finding good success in getting many of my landscapes in
galleries in the Midwest. I'm excited about growing more in this
direction.

Visited your site Larry and the landscapes are wonderful. You have a real
sense of the land and place which, based on the photos, seem very convincing.
I especially like the "Garden".

I'm not surprised that you're finding galleries interested in your new work and
wish you great success.

I would like to make one suggestion if I may. Perhaps you might think about
separating the landscapes into a gallery space of its own rather than mixing
them in with the other work. It takes a long time to page through each
individual image to find the landscapes. Just a thought.

Thanks for your words, admonishments and suggestions!

I have discussed changes with my site manager only a few weeks ago....and
mentioned I'd like to eliminate the "illustration" portfolio entirely, as
well as the carvings and the stamp designs as a separate portfolio page. A
few of those could be added to my wildlife portfolio as a general topic.
While I'm not doing much in wildlife these days, it is a draw to my site
because of a number knowing or having heard of me. I want to add a new
portfolio that depicts my "plein air" side of the landscapes....that is
those painted directly on location, and keep those separate from the
landscapes done in my studio.

In addition...I want a landscape on the home page to greet the visitor, and
we are going to create marblized page buttons to navigate and get rid of
the white harsh contrasting bookmark like eagle image on the left.
Hopefully within the next month we can get those changes effected.
