My husband died almost three years ago, and in going through his
estate, I found two original Ernie Barns oils on canvas. I would like
to know how I can find out the market value for these paintings and if
they are worth my selling them. Could someone please advise me as to
where I would start with my research?
Thanks

Don't know where you are, but the Art Institute of Chicago used to have a
day where they appraised work without fee. If you are near them, you might
call and see.

The auction houses might be able to give you an idea of their interest if
you sent very good 35 mm slides or 4" x 5" transparencies of the works.
