Re Postmodernism

One of thecritics recently said he didn;t think the term meant much.
It was a carchall phrase to describe a variety of different things
which had happened in the last 15 years or so. None of them made too
much sense in relation to past modernist work so, because of that
they are "post" it. Another possibility is they were never there. They
aree truly ignorant. Quite a few are. Unfortunately I know some of
them. They actually know how to make a betterkind of painting than
they are doing. I put it down to two things. Venality and stupidity.

I don't think we live in 'post-modern' times yet, not until all earth's
resources are exhausted and we have to scrounge through the rubble of
civilization for something to create our work with, will it be
post-modern. We are still
in the post cold-war (wwII) era, abstract impressionism, graffiti art,
renascent constructivism and neo expressionism dominate.

I see alot of 'graffiti art' and abstract impressionist art these days.
