Hello, I'm new to this newsgroup... test... test. Are there any people
out there who are interested in surrealism, particularly in Rene
Magritte?

Yes, of course. Magritte is fascinating, but in my
view not any more so than Dali, Max Ernst, and a number
of others. By the way, there is also a newsgroup
called alt.surrealism. (And incidentally, I always
think of myself more as being "in here" than "out
there." Think about it. Look at your monitor.
Doesn't it seem like I am more "in here"?) a.g.b-p

That kind of surrealism is pretty weak.
HR Giger is my favorite surrealist.
I also like Zdislaw Beksinski's work very much.

Thank you for your reply!

Good question ;-)

I consider my monitor a window rather than a box. Just like a telephone.
The voice I hear is not in the phone, but "out there", somewhere in the
world.

The second reason why I intuitively said "out there" is because I'm new
to this news group and initially seeing just a dark, unknown room. When
I'm more familiar with the group, I'll probably say "in here", because
the group will then be 3 meters behind my monitor inside my house,
rather than 300 kilometers "out there" ;-)

Best wishes.

Wow! You sure live a lot closer to
civilization than I do.
